To celebrate Las Vegas’ birthday (May 15th), this informal SHOWGIRL Parade was created to celebrate the Las Vegas icon and bring together the community that loves Sin City!
Come on out and create your best tribute to the Las Vegas Showgirl as we walk up and down Fremont Street, reminding everyone of the beauty and history of the Showgirl! Don your feathers and rhinestones! You don’t need to wear a Bob Mackie original, just create your own fantasy showgirl costume! Don’t want to be a showgirl, but want to walk in the (informal) parade? Dress up as any Las Vegas iconic image — get creative! Give us your best Elvis, or pair of dice, or come as Cecil the Lion! You can even pay tribute to casinos of the past! Create a costume for the Landmark or the Frontier! The more showgirls, the merrier! Get even more creative with mashups! Think Zombie Showgirl or an OZ Rat Pack!
If you know a creative type that wants to showcase their love for Vegas, invite them!! After the parade, we will meet at a TBA location for some socializing and an award ceremony!
